Named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team after a rookie season in which he posted three top-20 finishes and ranked second on the squad with a 73.51 strokes per round average ... a Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll selection in his first season at Rice ... fired a final-round 69 to finish the Conference USA Championship with a one-over par 217 and cap his season with a tie for 13th at the league championship ... competed in all 12 events the Owls participated in ... his best performance came at home at Westwood Golf Club where he finished in a tie for 11th at the 11th Rice Intercollegiate ... closed out the home event with a two-under par 70 to shoot even par for the tournament (72-74-70-216) ... in first collegiate event tied for 40th at the Sam H. Wrapped up summer prior to sophomore season by winning the City of Los Angeles 2011 Match Play Tournament ... qualified for match play by finishing eighth in stroke-play qualifying then won five matches on three different municipal courses at the tournament conducted by the City of Los Angeles' Department of Recreation and Parks ... defeated Cal State Northridge golfer Matt Siporin (1 Up) in the championship round ... the day prior to the championship, won back-to-back matches, defeating top seed and University of Kansas golfer Chris Gilbert (2 Up) in the quarterfinals and Maxwell Cohen (2 & 1).
