David Bailiff and staff officially welcomed the 2007 edition of the Rice Owls to Houston on Sunday as the players reported to camp.

Team members checked out equipment, moved into their campus housing and then held a barbeque dinner with staff and their parents on Sunday night.

Prior to their first practice on Monday, a number of Owls players and coaches will meet with the Houston news media during the annual Media Day. The full squad will hit the practice field for the first time at 4:00 on Monday.

The first four practices will be held on the grass practice fields north of Rice Stadium. The team will hold the first two-a-day practice on Saturday on the turf at Rice Stadium.
