July 15, 2014
Rice alumni and Owl fans have two weeks remaining to purchase special ticket packages to the 2014 season's opening road games at Notre Dame and Texas A&M.
The packages which include both a game ticket and admission to a special pregame tailgate have been organized by the Association of Rice Alumni and Rice Athletics. While these events are being organized through the Rice Alumni office, all Owl fans are able to take advantage of these special offers.
Rice will open the 2014 season by making its first trip to Notre Dame since 1988 when the Owls and Fighting Irish square off on August 30 in a game that will be televised nationally by NBC. Two weeks later, the Owls will make a repeat trip north to College Station to meet Texas A&M for the second consecutive year for a game broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
Individual ticket sales to the opening two road games will remain on sale through July 31. Packages for the Notre Dame game are $115 for adults and $90 for children 12 and under. Packages for Texas A&M are $105 for adults and $80 for children under 12. After July 31, only tailgate passes will be available for both Notre Dame and Texas A&M games. Fans who have already purchased their game tickets are able to register for each of the tailgates as well. Tailgate tickets for both events are $45 for adults and $20 for children in advance and $50/$25 day of game.
