Rice placekicker Chris Boswell has earned a spot on the 2012 CFPA Placekicker Trophy Watch List, announced today by College Football Performance Awards.
The redshirt junior tied the school record by converting 17 field goals last season. He hit on 17 of 21 field goals (.810) during the 2011 season. His only misses came from 60, 54, 45, and 38. Against Tulane, he converted a career long 54-yard field goal into the wind.
College Football Performance Awards selects all recipients based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. Previous CFPA Placekicker Trophy recipients include Nebraska's Alex Henery, Georgia's Blair Walsh, Texas A&M's Randy Bullock, and Florida's Caleb Sturgis.
