Eight Football Games Selected for Broadcast

HOUSTON, Texas - Eight Rice football games will be broadcast nationally this fall as part of the partnerships between both Conference USA and the Big XII and their various network affiliations. Both conferences announced the initial selections on Monday.

Six of the Owls games have been selected by C-USA broadcast partners, while the Big XII announced that the Owls game at Texas will be broadcast on the Longhorn Network with a 7 p.m. kickoff and their trip to Waco two weeks later to face Baylor will be broadcast on FSN and kick off at 2 p.m.

Fox College Sports selected three games which will all start at 1:30 p.m. FCS will broadcast the Owls' conference road opener and North Texas on September 19, the conference home opener against Western Kentucky on October 3 as well as the road game at Florida Atlantic on October 10.

Fox Sports 1 will carry the Rice-Louisiana Tech matchup that was moved to October 30, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. while CBS Sports Network will carry the Owls road game the following Friday at UTEP.

Fox also announced it has selected the Rice-Army game on October 24, but will not announce the final network assignment of kickoff time until two weeks prior to the game.

Conference USA's national television partners are Fox Sports Media Group, CBS Sports Network and American Sports Network for regular season games. The league's 11th annual Championship Game, pitting the champions of the East and West Divisions, is scheduled for Saturday, December 5 and will be televised by ESPN or ESPN 2.

The current confirmed schedule features nearly 60 games to air nationally or regionally, with many additional games to be added prior to beginning of the season. The initial schedule contains games selected by television partners FOX and CBS Sports Network, along with selected games as part of other conference's television deals.

National games will be televised this season on FOX Sports 1, Fox Sports Net (FSN), FOX College Sports, CBS Sports Network, American Sports Network and ESPN. The ASN schedule of 30 games will be announced later this summer, and additional games where Conference USA is the visiting school will continue to be added into the season.

The 2015 football season marks the fifth year of a multi-platform media rights agreement between Conference USA and FOX Sports to broadcast a minimum of 30 games. Games appear on FOX Sports 1, as well as FOX Sports Networks owned and affiliated regional networks, which reach more than 85 million homes, and FOX College Sports.

This season marks the 11th year of C-USA's partnership with CBS Sports Network that includes significant national and regional exposure for football, men's and women's basketball and other C-USA sports. CBS Sports Network is the 24-hour home of CBS Sports available across the country.
