Godber Third Overall Pick in CFL Draft

Rice offensive guard Peter Godber has been selected by the BC Lions with the third overall pick in the 2018 CFL Draft on Thursday night.

The 6-3, 300 pound Godber finished his career with the Owls by playing in 48 games, with 35 starts-the last 19 consecutively. He was named the Owls offensive lineman of the game three times as a senior.

In the classroom, Godber graduated with a 3.62 GPA as a double major in Sports Management and Kinesiology and was a four-time member of the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Godber signed with the Owls out of St. Andrews College suburban Toronto in 2013.

Godber joins offensive tackle Scott Mitchell as Owls who have been selected at the top of the CFL Draft in recent years. Mitchell was drafted by the Edmonton Eskimos with the second overall selection in the 2011 CFL Draft and played for five seasons. He is currently serves as a graduate assistant coach at Liberty University.
