Six members of Rice's 2009 football recruiting class have been selected to participate in the 2009 Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Football Game that will be played on July 21 at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin.

Four future Owls will suit up for the South squad: Broderick Jackson (Kirbyville), Nick Hammett (Rockdale), Cade Shaw (Corpus Christi) and Jon Hodde (Burton) and they will face off against a pair of future teammates on the North squad: Chris Boswell (Keller) and Alex Lowry (Caddo Mills).

Last season, Rice was represented by one player, safety Xavier Webb (Montgomery), who went on to earn a letter as a true freshman last fall for the Owls.
