The Rice football team will close out their 2017 Spring Practice schedule with the annual Blue-Gray Game on April 7 and the Owls are once again offering their fans a chance to become a part of the action.
This year’s game will kick off at 8 p.m. at Rice Stadium and several fans will be a part of the action by winning one of the following assignments:
- Interview Guest Coaches before the game
- Kick an Extra Point during the spring game when the Owls score
- Be the honorary Owls Football PA announcer for one quarter of the game
- Shoot the official Football t-shirt gun during the game
- Interview your favorite Owls Players after the game
Prior to the spring game, Owl fans of all ages are invited to partake in several special activities on the West Concourse. Younger Owl fans can enjoy the Family Fun Zone featuring interactive inflatables, games, a photo booth and sign making.
Concessions including food, beverages and beer will be available on the west concourse, starting at 7:00 p.m.
Rice Athletics Ticket Office representatives will be on-site to answer any questions and help fans seeking new season tickets take part in the “Select a Seat” program, where open seats will be tagged for fans to view and purchase.
Parking lots at Rice will open at 5:00 p.m. in conjunction with the Rice Baseball game. Fans are encouraged to start off the evening with tailgating in the parking lots and recall the fun and festivities of Saturdays in the fall. Parking is free for all fans in the Greenbriar Lot. Parking in West Lot 4 is also available for $5.00.
Gates 1 and 4 at Rice Stadium will open at 7:00 p.m. Seating will only be available on the west, lower level side of Rice Stadium. The east stands and both upper decks will be closed.
Head coach David Bailiff will address the crowd at halftime and also announce the names of the players who will honor past Rice greats as 2017 Honor Jerseys. After the game, selected players will be available for a postgame autograph session.
