Rice Football will celebrate the accomplishments of the 2012 Armed Forces Bowl champions and honor the nine graduating seniors when the Owls host the Rice Football Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Houston Greenway Plaza Hotel.
The annual event will wrap up a busy week for the Owls, who will wrap up Spring Football drills on April 5 with the annual Blue-Gray Spring Game.
The following day, Rice football lettermen and boosters will gather at Wildcat Golf Club for their annual tournament which benefits Rice Football. The event tees off a noon with a shotgun start.
Among the awards to be announced at the banquet will be the winner of the George Martin Award as the MVP of the 2012 Owls, the Joe F. Lipscomb Award to the Owls top freshman and the George R. Brown offensive and Jess Neely defensive awards, which honor the top players at various position groups.
Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased from the Rice Football office by downloading the registration form. Seating is limited and registration will close on March 29. For more additional information, please call Ingrid Sobrino at (713) 348-8857.
