The Rice game captains were Kyle Martens, Tyler Smith, Scott Solomon, and Denzel Wells.

Freshman Ian Gray (72) made his first career start at left guard.

QB Nick Fanuzzi's first nine cpmpletions were to nine different receivers.

Fanuzzi's second quarter touchdown pass moved him past Mark Commalander into sole possession of 4th place on the Owls? career TD list with 28. Tommy Kramer is third with 37.

Fanuzzi's 53 yards rushing is a single-game career-high. Fanuzzi totalled 212 yards of total offense to move into 8th place on Rice's career list with 4,486. He moves past Kyle Herm (4,360 yards from 2000-03).

Chris Boswell tied the Rice single-season record with his 17th field goal (third quarter). Boswell tied James Hamrick, who also had 17 in 1985.

Boswell also moved into a tie for third on the Rice career FG list (28, with Clark Fangmeier, 2006-09). Mark Williams (1970-72) is second with 30 FGs.

Tyler Smith rushed for 32 to move past John Coleman (1972-75) into 18th on the career rushing yards list. Smith now has 1,581 career yards.

Paul Porras' interception in the 1st quarter was his second of the season (previous at Marshall). Porras led the team in tackles on the day with eight.

Xavier Webb's interception in the 2nd was his second of the year (previous last week vs. Tulane).

The Owls have intercepted at least one pass in eight of the last nine games, and have had made two picks in three of the last four.

Jordan Taylor's TD reception was his second of the season (other was vs. UTEP).

Kyle Martens' 63-yard punt was his second-longest of the season (65 vs. Purdue).

Donte Moore's TD reception was the first of his career.

Hosam Shahin's QB sack in the 1st quarter was the first of his career.

Cameron Nwosu's fumble return for a touchdown (3rd quarter) was his second of the season (previous at Houston). The Owls have recorded four defensive TDs this season.

Scott Solomon recorded six tackles, including one tack-for-loss to give him 44 TFL in his career (two TFL behind the career record held by Larry Izzo, 46 from 1992-95).

Justin Allen made six tackles to give him 97 for the season.
