2016 team co-captain who closed out his career tying Sam McGuffie for 11th on the Rice career receiving chart.

One of two seniors picked by teammates to serve as captain throughout the season, and led the team in receiving for the second consecutive year, finishing with 38 for 346 yards (third best) and a touchdown... Tied Sam McGuffie for 11th on the Rice career list with 102, becoming the 12th Owl to reach 100 catches with a pair of receptions vs. UTEP... Became the first Owl since 2008 to have multiple double-digit reception games, finishing with a career-high 12 for 111 yards at Charlotte... Caught 10 vs. North Texas for a career-high 120 yards... James Casey had three games with 12 catches in 2008 and Jarett Dillard had to double digit games in 2007 and one in 2006... First Owl to reach double figures in a game since Jordan Taylor caught 10 at Louisiana Tech in 2014.... Fourth receiver since Rice switched to the spread attack in 2006 to reach the mark... James Casey did it three times in 2008, catching 12 in three different games.... Jarett Dillard had a pair of double digit receiving games in 2007 and one in 2006... Dillard’s 13-catch effort vs. SMU is the most by an Owl in the spread era... The school record is 14 by David Houser at Florida in 1976. Wright wore Houser’s number 17 in 2016 as part of the Owls’ honor jersey program... Former walk-on who was a candidate for the Burlsworth Trophy and selected by teammates to join Alex Lyons as a captain for the 2016 season.

Led the team with 39 catches, 554 yards and 5 TD receptions... Top game was a 116-yard night at UTEP for his first career 100-yard game.. Celebrated his mother's induction into the Rice Athletics Hall of Fame the night before the Army game by catching six for 79 yards including the game winner with 24 seconds left... Caught a career-high eight at FAU for 77 yards and a touchdown.

Second on team among returning players with 25 catches... One of six Owls with a catch of at least 50 yards in 2014, grabbing a career-best, 51-yard TD from Driphus Jackson at LA Tech... Recorded his first two career catches in the opener at Notre Dame, including a 26-yard touchdown from Jackson that was the Owls' first TD in history vs. the Irish... Followed that effort up by catching three for 32 yards at Texas A&M... Led the Owls with a career-high 80 receiving yards vs. ODU while tying with Dennis Parks for team lead with a career-high six catches.

Made his debut on special teams vs. UTSA and went on to play in five games.

Also starred in basketball for three seasons, scoring 15 points per game en route to a district championship and first team all-district honors.
