Rice-- Heads into his last fall camp at his familiar spot as the starting center.


2008: Returned to the starting lineup in the opener against SMU and has 43 career starts... Had made 31 consecutive starts at center, since the start of his college career, before he was sidelined for the final five games of 2007 because of mononucleosis.

2007: Saw his streak of 31 consecutive starts come to a close at Marshall when he didn't make the trip after coming down with mononucleosis... Missed the last five games ... second to David Berken for the most career starts among the current Owl linemen (31).

2006: Anchor on the offensive line who has started every game in his first two years of college (24 consecutive starts)... Joins Lute Barber as the only linemen to start all 13 games in 2006 and one of 11 Owls who were the first to start 13 games in a season.

2005: Started all 11 games at center, earning all-Conference USA freshman honors... Also honorable mention freshman all-America as selected by The Sporting News. 2004: Redshirt.

High School -- 2004 graduate of The Woodlands High in surburban north Houston... Three-year letterman and two-year starter for coach Weldon Willig... Helped the Highlanders to the Class 5A Division I state finals as a senior... First-team all-Montgomery County as a senior and second-team all-District 15-5A... Helped The Woodlands compete in the state playoffs all three of his varsity seasons... Three-year academic letterman... Also competed for the Highlanders' track team, placing third in the district meet in the shot put... Carried a 3.5 high school GPA.
