The Owls held their second scrimmage of their 2012 Fall Camp on Thursday, August 16.
Rice- Multi-talented athlete stepped into the starters role after Corey Frazier was lost for the season.

Made the last 12 starts at free safety after Corey Frazier was injured and responded with 79 tackles to finish third on the team and 34th in Conference USA... Second on tied for sixth in C-USA with three forced fumbles... Credited with a career-best 11 tackles in his first career start at Kansas including 1.5 TFL... Credited with 10 tackles, including a career-best nine unassisted the following week at Louisiana Tech, while also forcing a pair of fumbles... Picked off passes in back-to-back games vs. Tulsa and Southern Miss... Broke-up a pair of passes at UTEP in the regular season finale and finished the year with eight tackles (one for loss) and a pass break up vs. Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl.

Credited with three special teams tackles... Returned his first career kickoff for 20 yards vs. UTEP... Made his debut at Southern Miss and was credited with a tackle on punt coverage... Missed time at the start of camp while recovering from an injury suffered prior to the start of camp while participating in an all-star game.
Kempner High School- All District 23-5A selection as a senior for James Brown... Triggered the Cougars option attack as a quarterback, rushing for 1,320 yards and 19 touchdowns while throwing for 415 yards and three scores... Honorable mention Academic All State selection...
