Rice -- Athletic senior heads into his final year slated to add depth in the defensive backfield.


2007: Saw action in all 12 games and finished with 20 tackles... Made three starts at KAT (Nicholls, Baylor and Memphis)... matched his career-high with six tackles in the season finale against Tulsa, also had six tackles in the last game of the 2005 season against Houston... Credited with his first career interception against Houston, but also picked off a two-point conversion attempt at Southern Miss the week before to preserve the Owls' 31-29 lead late in the fourth quarter... Returned his interception against the Cougars for seven yards... Broke up passes against Baylor and Tulsa.

2006: Defensive back who saw action in three games and picked up a tackle against UAB... Member of the Student Owl Club... Saw action vs. Houston, Army and Tulane.

2005: Earned his first letter as a true freshman, playing in 10 games with three starts... Had 26 tackles (18 primary), inlcuding one for a one-yard loss against UCF... His 29-yard interception return against Tulane helped clinch the Owls' win... Also had a fumble recovery against the Green Wave... Had a season-high eight tackles against Houston on the season finale.

High School -- 2005 graduate of Carter High in Dallas... Three-year letter and two-year starter for coach Allen Wilson... Three-time all-District 9-5A selection... Dallas Morning News' area top 100... Led Cowboys to 11-2 record... PrepStar all-regional team in 2004... Gained 730 yards on 98 carries as a senior, but had more than 2,000 rushing yards in his high school career... Played in All-American Independence Bowl game in Shreveport, La., and was defensive MVP of Coca Cola All-Star game in Dallas with two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and nine solo tackles... Participated in 2004 Nike camp... Also ran track for the Cowboys... National Honor Society and high honor roll throughout his high school years... Graduated among the top 10 in his class... Also recruited by Minnesota, SMU, Tennessee, TCU, and Texas A&M.
