UTSA hangs on to defeat Rice 14-13
Coach Bailiff held his first press conference of the year in advance of fall practice.
Per tradition, the members of the senior class were carried from the field after their last practice at Rice Stadium.
Rice rallied from a 21-0 deficit to defeat Charlotte 22-21 on November 12.
Rice hosted FAU at Rice Stadium on November 5.

Earned Honorable Mention All C-USA honors as a senior after making the switch from linebacker to strong safety.
Honorable mention All-Conference USA selection by coaches... Team leader with 11 TFL and 6 PBU while matching his career best with 51 tackles after switching from LB to SS in the spring... Returned to LB for the FAU game as Emmanuel Ellerbee was injured... Tied for eighth in C-USA with 0.92 TFL per game... Reached double figures for the first time in his career with 10 vs. UTSA... Credited with a sack as one of his three TFL and forced a fumble that he recovered and returned for 17 yards... Made his debut at safety with a start in the opener after 32 career games (10 starts) at linebacker... Missed the Army game with an injury, but came back with a pair of stops (one for loss) and a pass breakup vs. Baylor.
Second on the team with 51 tackles, including 4.5 TFL... Made nine starts at linebacker next to Alex Lyons... Had 40 of his stops over the last seven games, including a pair of career-best games with seven tackles (Army & @UTEP). ... Credited with a sack vs. Wagner to move into a tie on the current squad (Alex Lyons) with three career quarterback stops.
Established career bests with 21 tackles and 19 solo stops... Made his first career start at Southern Miss and contributed career-best five tackles and his second career sack... Helped spark the Owls' second half rally against North Texas by recovering fumble on the second half kickoff... In addition to his work at linebacker, also saw action along the line as a rush end in passing situations.
Made his debut in the season opener at Texas A&M... Credited with his first career tackle against UTSA... Picked up his first career sack, for a loss of 12, the following week at New Mexico State and added a second tackle... Was injured later in the game and did not see any further action.

All-District 12-4A selection as a senior for coach James Agenti at Dallas Lincoln HS... Totaled 83 tackles--including five sacks, forced five fumbles, recovered three fumbles, intercepted one pass and scored a pair of defensive touchdowns as a senior... Academic All State... National Honor Society... Quill and Scroll... Ranked eighth in his graduating class.
