2006: Second-team All C-USA pick by the media, and a first-team pick by the Houston Chronicle after posting the sixth 1,000 yard rushing season in Rice history (1,096) and moving into the second spot on the Owls career rushing list (2,505)....rushed for 108 in the opener against Houston and went on to top the century mark five times this year....top rushing effort was a 183 yard effort against UCF......C-USA Offensive Player of the Week for his 243 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns against UTEP... ranked fifth in the conference with 91.0 yards per game and 126.58 all purpose yards per game. He has seven plays from scrimmage this season of 37 yards or better, including a 69-yard scoring run and a 41-yard non-scoring jaunt. He has scored on pass plays of 80 and 64 yards this year. His 80-yard catch and run against Houston was the longest scoring play of the year in the conference and matched the fourth longest scoring pass in Rice history. Smith is the first Owl to lead the team in rushing in back-to-back seasons since Chad Richardson in 1998-99. After being shut out for four games, Smith has scored eight times in the last four games, including seven on the ground. He rushed for 10 scores this year, three more than his career total heading into this season... topped 100 all-purpose yards in nine of 12 games and his 243 all purpose yards against UTEP ranks as the 9th best single-game total in Rice history. He now has 1,518 all purpose yards this year, the most by an Owl since Michael Perry totaled 1,784 in 1997. Smith's total ranks as the 7th best season mark in school history, and he is just 33 yards away from finishing fifth. Smith has 2,886 all purpose yards in his career (fifth best in school history)....
2005: Second-team all-Conference USA selection... Winner of the George Martin Award as the Owls' most valuable player, as well as a George R. Brown Offense Award as Rice's top running back... Started all 11 games at A-back... Led the Owls with 902 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 140 attempts... Rushed for at least 100 yards in five games, topped by a 154-yard effort against UTEP... Also had 143 yards and a 58-yard TD run in the win over Tulane... Scored twice on the ground at East Carolina... Had seven receptions for 40 yards and one touchdown, an eight-yard play against UCF.
2004: Played in eight games with five starts as a sophomore, earning his first letter... Gained 300 yards on 50 carries (6.0 average), scoring touchdowns against SMU and Fresno State... Gained 166 yards on 12 carries against Fresno, including an 80-yard touchdown run... Also had two receptions for two yards on the season.
2003: Played in eight games with two starts (Fresno State and Nevada, but did not letter... Rushed for 207 yards on 26 carries as a redshirt freshman... Top game was a 142-yard effort on only 13 carries at Fresno State, but missed most of the last five games with a leg injury... Had a 33-yard gain at Fresno for his longest run of the year... Caught one pass but for a four-yard loss in the season opener.

Led Cedar Park to 8-3 record and spot in the bi-district playoffs in the only the second year of varsity competition for the school...
