Rice -- Tough player who continues his comeback from injury... Missed the `04 season, but made a solid return in `05.

2006 Opened the year at linebacker and was credited with a tackle against Houston....moved to fullback the next week and made his offensive debut against Florida State, gaining a yard on his first career carry.

2005: Played in 10 games as a reserve inside linebacker... Had 10 tackles (six primary)... Had a season-high three tackles at Tulsa... Returned a fumble 14 yards against SMU.

2004: Redshirt.

2003: Played in all 12 games to earn his first letter as a true freshman... Credited with 22 tackles (12 primary)... Had a season-high six stops (five primary) in the win over UTEP.

High School -- 2003 graduate of China Spring High near Waco... Second-team all-state performer for coach Mark Bell... All-District 17-3A linebacker... Had 153 tackles, including 11 sacks, as a senior, leading the Cougars to the Class 3A Division II playoffs... Second team academic all-state... Named district defensive MVP as a junior and the newcomer of the year as a sophomore... Had career totals to 381 tackles, including 36 for loss and 12 pass deflections... Led the team to 26 wins in three years as a starter, highlighted by an 11-2 mark by the 2001 team that advanced to the regional finals of the Division II playoffs... Also competed in track and powerlifting.
