Threw for 243 yards and a pair of scores in the 2018 Blue-Gray game to cap off a productive spring.. Threw for 598 yards while playing in seven games in 2017 and starting a pair at quarterback, while also seeing some action at tight end at the end of the year… Both of his touchdown passes were long distance strikes, combining with Austin Walter on a 70-yard catch and run at Pitt and combining with Aaron Cephus on a 59-yard scoring play vs. Army… Rushed for a touchdown vs. FIU… Threw for a career-high 222 yards (15-52-3) and a touchdown at Pitt in his second consecutive start. Other Rice Sports Made five relief appearances with the Rice baseball team prior to the start of spring drills and posted a no record and a 6.00 ERA… Allowed four hits and two runs in three innings, walking two and striking out a pair.
Made his first career start at Stanford in season finale and was 10-37 for 68 yards through the air and added a 19 on the ground... Came on in relief of Tyler Stehling early against UTEP and settled in after a sack and fumble on his second snap which set up a Miner field goal, throwing for 196 yards (18-25-1) with two touchdowns and adding a third on a 24-yard reception... Came in after Stehling was hurt on the sixth play and on his second snap, from the UTEP 37 had the ball stripped and returned to the Rice 25. After the Owls held for a field goal, he responded on the next possession by leading offense on a 75 yard drive to take lead. Hit on 9-10 passes in the second quarter to help fuel a 28-point outburst... Made his debut at LA Tech, coming on in the fourth quarter and marching the Owls 88 yards to their final touchdown... Completed 4-5 passes for 54 yards and carried the ball three times for 14 yards, including the final two for his first career touchdown.
