Rice -- Intense competitor who earned a spot on both the Rotary Lombardi and Outland Trophy Watch Lists

2007: Second-team All C-USA selection by both the coaches and media in their post-season voting... Made a total of 35 career starts along the offensive line... Selected as a candidate for the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) 2007 National Scholar-Athlete Awards and as a semifinalist for the 2007 Draddy Trophy, presented by Health South... One of four game captains for the Baylor game.

2006: Moved from left tackle to left guard and became the Owls most consistent performer on the offensive line... Earned second team all-CUSA honors from the media and was tabbed for the third team by the coaches... Made 11 starts in 2006 and has 23 career starts... Football representative on Rice's student-athlete committee... Also an honors candidate for his work in the classroom, posting a 3.38 GPA while majoring in kinesiology (sports medicine track)... Member of the Student Owl Club

2005: Started all 11 games at left tackle to earn his second letter... Academic all-Conference USA.

2004: Played in 10 games with one start (Tulsa) to earn his first letter... Academic all-WAC selection... Helped the Owls to the top national ranking in rushing offense.

Named offensive MVP as a senior in 2002 by the Pearland Reporter... All-Brazoria County selection... Two-way starter who led the squad to district titles in 2000 and `01... Helped team compile a 31-8 record in his three years as a starter, including a 13-1 ledger in 2001 where the Oilers reached the 5A Division I semifinals... Also competed in track and golf... All-A honor roll and member of the National Spanish Honor Society.
