Rice -- Mature player who was again a major factor on the defensive line.

2006: Solid force in the middle of the Owls defensive front who made nine starts at nose guard... Honorable Mention All C-USA by the league's coaches ....finished with 17 tackles, four for loss--including a career-high three quarterback sacks....had tackles for loss in each of the last three games, and sacks in two of the last threee....his seven-yard sack of Justin Willis of SMU forced a punt to give the Owls the ball for their game-winning drive.....also forced a pair of fumbles....had his season-high of three tackles twice (UTEP and Tulsa).

2005: Played in all 11 games with five starts on the interior line (four at tackle, one at noseguard)... Credited with 14 tackles (eight primary) on the season, including 2.5 for nine yards in losses... Two of the TFLs, including his only sack of the season, came against Navy... Had a season-high five tackles against the Midshipmen.

2004: Started all 11 games at defensive tackle... Third-leading tackler on the D-line with 24 stops (13 primary), including four tackles for 12 yards in losses... Had his only sack of the season against Houston in the season-opening victory... Forced one fumble vs. Louisiana Tech and recovered one against Tulsa... Blocked a Houston field-goal attempt... Had career-highs of five tackles against both Texas and Louisiana Tech.

2003: Played in all 12 games with one start (Navy) to earn his first letter... Credited with 11 tackles (six primary) as a redshirt freshman... Had two tackles in five games, and a six-yard tackle for loss in the win over Nevada.

2002: Redshirt.

High School -- 2002 graduate of Kempner High School in Fort Bend County... Two-time all-District 20-5A selection for coach Tom Henderson... Served as the team captain of the Cougars' undefeated district championship squad... His senior leadership proved to be a key as Kempner doubled its win total from 5 to 10 and made its first playoff appearance since 1995, all in his final year... Made 62 tackles, including 13 behind the line of scrimmage, as a junior in 2000... Three-year letterman... Also a two-year letterman in track.
