Groza Award Semifinalist who tied the Owls season record with a career-high 17 field goals in 2011... Now has 28 career field goals, which is tied for third (see charts).

2011
First team All C-USA by Rivals.com, second team by Phil Steele and Honorable Mention selection by C-USA coaches...Converted 17 of 21 field goals on the season (.810) Only misses came from 60, 54, 45 and 38 (slipping on rain soaked field)... His .810 percentage ranks third on the Rice season chart... Has converted 28 of 38 in his career and his .737 percentage would rank second in school history... In addition to his field goal success, led the team with 82 points this season (9th best in school history) and has 156 point in his career, which is tied with Froggy Williams for seventh on the Owls career list... Averaged 63.1 on 59 kickoffs and doubled the Owls' touchbacks this year from 2010 (14)... Named C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance vs. Tulane...Converted twice from more than 50 yards vs. the Green Wave, including a career-long, 54-yarder into the wind in the second quarter... Tied for the national lead with three field goals of better than 50 this year, and now has five in his career, both totals matching James Hamrick for the most in school history... Also averaged 69.8 on five kickoffs against Tulane and was honored by the College Football Performance Awards as one of their Kickoff Specialists of the Week... Converted all three PATs at SMU, raising his career total to 72, six shy of Froggy Williams for 4th on the Rice career list... Tabbed a midseason All C-USA selection by Phil Steele... Opened the season by converting on all three FG attempts vs. Texas while adding kickoff duties... Had two touchbacks in four kickoff attempts and held Texas to an average starting position of their own 21.

Took over the Owls placekicking duties after redshirting in 2009 and earned All Freshman honors from league coaches... Set a Rice freshman kick-scoring record, finishing with 74 points... Tied for seventh in C-USA, tied for 73rd in the nation with 11 field goals in 12 games... 11 FG's tied for 7th on the Rice season field goal list and one shy of the school record for a freshman (Matt Huelsman, 1994)... Converted a field goal in six consecutive games, the longest streak by an Owl since Sammy Hartman did it in 1989... Hamrick holds the school mark by connecting in eight consecutive games in 1985... Converted 41 of 44 PATs this season, third-best by an Owl in a season... Named one of the Lou Groza Award Stars of the Week for his performance against North Texas... Tied the school record by kicking four field goals in the Owls' 32-31 win over North Texas... Tied the mark first set by Joel Baxter vs. TCU in 1981 and matched by Matt Huelsman, also against TCU, in 1994... First field goal was a 50-yarder, the longest field goal for the Owls since Luke Juist kicked a 53-yarder in 2004... Added a second 50-yard kick in the first quarter, becoming the first Rice kicker to have two field goals of 50-yards or more in the same game... James Hamrick holds the school season (3) and career (5) records for 50-yard field goals... Converted his first career field goal attempt, a 42-yarder vs. Texas to give the Owls a 3-0 lead. Also converted his first two PATs against the Horns.
