Blair Peterson is in his second season with the Rice Owls as an offensive assistant.
Peterson spent the 2016 season with the FIU football program. For FIU, Peterson started the season as a defensive graduate assistant coach, but was quickly moved the offensive side of the ball to coach the tight ends.
Peterson, who began his collegiate playing career at New Mexico, later transferred to Towson University where he was a two-year letter winner and played quarterback before graduating with a Bachelors of Liberal Arts degree in Spanish in 2010.
Peterson walked the sidelines from 2010-13, while serving as an offensive quality control assistant at the University of Texas where he worked directly with the Longhorns' offensive coordinator, breaking down game film and assisting with play selection and in-game adjustments. He worked with Texas' tight ends and quarterbacks in 2011 and 2012 and the Longhorn running backs and wide receivers in 2010.
During the 2012 season, Peterson served as running backs coach during Texas' 31-27 win in the Alamo Bowl against Oregon State. He also has coaching experience in the 2011 Holiday Bowl when the Longhorns defeated California, 21-10.
