2007-- Made his return to the backfield against Texas, carrying the ball twice for nine yards, his first yardage since he gained 59 yards vs. Tulane in 2005... picked up his first career reception at Southern Miss... Recovered the loose ball after Luke Juist's sky kick to set up the winning touchdown against UTEP.....saw action in two games as a rush end on passing situations... repeated as a member of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All District 6 Football Team.
2006: Reserve who was used in a variety of roles for the Owls ... Used on special teams and also brought in to line up at defensive end to use his speed in pass rush situations... Picked up his first career sack in the New Orleans Bowl against Troy, dropping Omar Haugabook for a 10-yard loss... Credited with his first career tackle on special teams at Army....credited with a quarterback hurry against UTEP....Named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 6 Football team after posting a 3.51 GPA in Political Science.
2005: Saw action in 10 games as a reserve running back to earn his first letter... Gained 74 rushing yards on 21 carries on the season... Gained 59 yards on nine carries in the win over Tulane, including a season-long 18-yard run... Academic all-Conference USA... Named an Arthur Ashe Scholar-Athlete.
2004: Saw action in four games but did not letter... Academic all-WAC selection... Rushed for 127 yards on 14 carries, 123 of which came in the win over SMU... Had a 55-yard non-scoring run against the Mustangs.
2003: Redshirt. Other Rice Athletics: Two-year letterman for the Rice track team... Competed on the outdoor track team as a freshman sprinter in the 100-meters (10.88 best time) and 200-meters (22.42), helping the Owls to the `04 WAC championship... Also competed in the sprints during both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2005.
High School -- 2003 graduate of Calallen High near Corpus Christi... All-state star for coach Phil Danaher... District 30-4A offensive MVP, and named to all-south Texas, all-Corpus Christi, and all-bay area honor teams... Rushed for 1,489 yards and 19 touchdowns, averaging almost 10 yards per carry as a senior in 2002... Led the Wildcats to a 12-2 record and Division II regional finals... National semi-finalist for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award... Paced the squad to an 11-2 record and to a Region IV playoff win as a junior... Helped the team post 25 consecutive district wins in three years as a varsity letterman... Also an outstanding track athlete who holds the national record in the 200-meter hurdles...
