Rice-- Leader of the Owls offensive line for the third straight year.
2008: Leads the Owls with 47 career starts... Has started 33 straight games since missing the Texas game in 2006... Rice's semifinalist for the Draddy Trophy... Named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI team with a 3.33 GPA while majoring in Kinesiology (Sport Medicine).
2007: Was the Owls top graded lineman all season.
2006: Showcased his versatility along the offensive line, starting three games at left tackle and one at left guard in addition to his normal slot at right guard (eight starts)....Opened the year at right guard for the first two games, then missed the Texas game with an injury. Moved over to left tackle when Rolf Krueger was injured for starts against FSU, Army and Tulane, then moved over to start atleft guard against UAB. Returned to right guard for the last five games. Academic honors candidate posting a 3.29 GPA in Kinesiology.
2005: Started all 11 games at right guard to earn his first letter... Academic all-Conference USA selection.
High School -- 2004 graduate of Notre Dame High in Crowley, La... Two-year starter and three-year letterman for coach Lewis Cook... Led Pioneers to a 14-1 record and the state finals as a senior... Honors included all-state, all-District 5-3A, all Acadia Parish, all-Acadiana and academic all-state... Played in the 2004 Bayou Bowl (Texas vs. Louisiana) at Baytown... Also a three-letterman in golf for Notre Dame... Carried a 4.0 high school grade point average.
