Enjoyed an outstanding return to the field after sitting out the 2011 season while recovering from surgery... Named to Dave Cambpell's Texas Football's postseason All Texas College team... Honorable Mention All C-USA by league coaches... Started all 13 games and reached career highs across the board, finishing with 51 tackles, (36 unassisted), 15 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two fumbles, two fumbles forced, one pass breakup and one interception. Ninth in the league and led the team with his 12 TFL, which also tied him for 10th on the Rice season list... Opened the year with a TFL in the first six games, including three vs. Memphis... Matched his single-game high with three vs. SMU... Sack high was a pair vs. SMU, the first of which forced a Garrett Gilbert fumble to set up the Owl's go-ahead touchdown... Top tackle effort was a career- best nine (seven solos) at Memphis... Deflected a pass then intercepted it at Tulane.
