HOUSTON — Rice men’s basketball coach Scott Pera has announced the signing of Quentin Millora-Brown (Lorton, Va.) to a national letter of intent for the 2018-19 school year, Pera announced Wednesday morning.
Millora-Brown, a 6-10 forward, led Bishop O’Connell to a 20-10 record last year and a 12-6 mark in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC). He averaged 5.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks. Millora-Brown was twice honored as a WCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention.
“I am thrilled to announce the signing of Quentin Millora-Brown,” said Pera. “Quentin brings many attributes to our program and university. He is a very active front court player that possess a variety of skills. He is an active defender and tremendous finisher around the basket. Quentin is also a standout student and will be a great fit for what we look for in a student-athlete at Rice. He is a great person and teammate and we are very excited about having him be a part of the program for the next four years.”
As a member of the New World AAU squad, Millora-Brown averaged 12 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks and two assists to help the team to the Adidas Gauntlet Finale 16-under championship.
Millora-Brown has also earned numerous academic honors. He earned the AP Scholar Award and is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society and Tri M Music Honor Society.
