HOUSTON — For the second straight day, sophomore Marcus Evans was named to the Preseason All-Conference USA team, this time by NBC Sports.

It is Evans’ fifth preseason honor already.

Evans also averaged 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists. He is third on the school single-season steals (69) and free throws (187) lists. His 21.4 points per game also set a C-USA freshman record.

Rice opens the season November 5 when it hosts Our Lady of the Lake in an exhibition game. The regular season begins November 13 at James Madison. The Conference USA Tournament will take place Mar. 8-11 in Birmingham, Ala. It is the third consecutive year that UAB will host the tournament.
