Michael Harris became Rice's all-time leading scorer and rebounder in 2004-05. He accomplished both feats in the same game (vs. Hawaii, Feb. 27, 2005) when he scored 30 points and grabbed 24 rebounds. The 24 rebounds are the second-most ever by a Rice player in a game. The 24 rebounds was the second-highest single-game high in the nation in 2004-05. Harris ended his Rice career with 2,014 points and 1,111 rebounds and became only the fourth player in the history of the WAC to score over 2,000 points and to have over 1,000 rebounds. He led the team in scoring (20.6 ppg) and in rebounding (11.7 rpg) during the year. His rebounding average was fourth in the nation and he ranked 15th in the nation in scoring. His .608 shooting percentage ranked 11th in the nation. His 12.7 rebounding average in WAC games only led the league.
