Ben Braun had 15 Pac-10 Academic All-Conference honorees during his tenure at California.

After recruiting one of the Top 10 recruiting classes for a mid-major program his first season, Rice had freshmen lead the team in both scoring and rebounding.

Rice had two players named to Conference USA's All-Academic Team and four players named to the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll

His first Rice team tripled its wins from the previous season

Had six players named to C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll (more than any of C-USA basketball program) in 2009

Led his teams to eight NCAA tournaments (Eastern Michigan in 1988, 1991 and 1996; Cal in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006)

Twice led teams to the Sweet 16 (Eastern Michigan in 1991; Cal in 1997) and led two other Cal teams into the second round of the tournament (2002 & 2003)

Coached Cal to the 1999 National Invitation Tournament championship - the Bears' first postseason title since winning the NCAA crown in 1960

Cal school record for most postseason appearances (5 NCAA, 3 NIT) and most consecutive postseason invitations (5 - 1999-2003)

Cal school record for most postseason wins, posting an 11-5 record

Cal school record for most 20-win seasons (6)

Coached two Pac-10 Players of the Year - Ed Gray (1997) and Sean Lampley (2001)

Coached Pac-10 Freshman of the Year Leon Powe (2005)

Eight upper division Pac-10 finishes in 11 seasons

Led Cal to the postseason in eight of 11 eligible seasons

Ranks second on Cal's all-time victories list with 219

The first Cal coach since Pete Newell (1954-60) to have a winning conference record (110-106)

1997 Pac-10 Coach of the Year - the first Cal coach ever to receive the honor

Was a finalist for the 2003 Naismith National Coach of the Year award

Nine All-Pac-10 honorees and seven Pac-10 All-Freshman selections

Led Cal to a 23-9 record during the 1996-97 season, setting a school record for most wins by a Cal coach in his first year

In 1998-99, guided Cal to three wins over Top 10 teams - North Carolina, Arizona and UCLA - the first time in school history the Bears beat three Top 10 schools in one year
