Jackson Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

HOUSTON — Junior guard Marcus Jackson was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, announced Friday morning by the conference office.

This is Jackson’s second appearance on the team, as he was also named in 2015.

Jackson was named the Men’s Basketball Scholar Athlete on Sunday for the second hear in a row. He holds a 3.32 grade points average in Sports Management. He was named the Arthur Ashe Jr., Sports Scholar and to the NABC Academic Honors Court in 2016. He is also a three-time member of the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

This year, the Acton, Calif., native is third on the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game while averaging 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.  He is second in the league in free throw percentage (.814) and 12th in three-pointers made per game (2.0). He has 20 double-figure scoring games on the year and has led the team in assists seven times.
