Saturday's game vs. Tulsa is the final home game of the 2006-07 season and also for three Rice seniors, Morris Almond, Greg Killings, and Lorenzo Williams. The game can be heard on KIKK 650 AM.
Last year at Tulsa, the Golden Hurricane won 80-73 in overtime as Almond led all scorers with 31 points.
Tulsa, which sports a two-game winning streak, is led in scoring by junior guard Rod Earls at 11.4 points a game, while freshman guard Ben Uzoh follows at 10.1. Uzoh also leads the squad in rebounding at 5.1 boards a game.
All-America Morris Almond is currently third in the nation in scoring at 26.5 points per game. Ahead of him is VMI's Reggie Williams (28.6) and Jackson State's Trey Johnson (27.5). Almond also leads the Owls in rebounding and is fourth in the league at 6.5 rebounds a game. He is averaging 23.8 points a game in C-USA action to lead all scorers. Almond has recently been named to the 2007 NABC District 9 First Team.
Lorenzo Williams is the Owls' second-leading scorer at 8.9 points and is the top assist man with 124 assists.
