Guercy Scores Career-High 25 Points in Road Win
Rice University men's basketball won its fourth game in the last five outings as Max Guercy scored a career-high 25 points to lead the team to a 76-69 win at Florida Atlantic on Saturday night at FAU Arena. The junior guard knocked down 9-of-13 shots and dished out six assists in the win.


HOUSTON -- Rice begins a homestand this Thursday, February 18, when it hosts Florida Atlantic. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.

Series History
• Rice and Florida Atlantic will meet for just the third time.
• The teams split the previous two games, with each winning on the others home floor.

Scouting Rice
• Rice enters today's game with a 9-16 record and is 4-8 in Conference USA after defeating Old Dominion, 75-66, last Saturday.
• Freshman Marcus Evans is third in Conference USA in scoring, averaging 19.8 points per game. He leads the league in steals (2.0), is seventh in minutes played (33.0) and 10th in free throw percentage (.778).
• Redshirt sophomore Egor Koulechov is sixth in the conference in scoring, averaging 16.8 points while placing 10th with 7.1 rebounds. He is third in C-USA in free throw percentage (.857), fourth in three-pointers made (2.5) and fifth in minutes played (34.0).
• Freshman Marquez Letcher-Ellis is third on the team with 10.2 points and second with 5.3 rebounds. He is also tied for sixth in C-USA with 1.1 blocks.
• Freshman Connor Cashaw is averaging 8.6 points and is eighth in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.407).
• Senior Max Guercy is averaging 7.8 points. He leads the league in free throw percentage (.869), is second in assists (5.5) and sixth in minutes played (33.6).
• Rice is averaging 75.8 points per game while allowing 80.7.
• The Owls are connecting on 44.1% from the field and just 31.8% from the three-point line while allowing 48.4% from the field and 40.6% from beyond the arc.
• Rice leads Conference USA in free throw percentage, connecting on 74.2%.

Scouting Florida Atlantic
• Florida Atlantic enters the game with a 7-19 record. The Owls are 5-8 in Conference USA and have lost three of four games after falling to UTEP, 89-82, last Saturday.
• Junior guard Adonis Filer leads the team with 10.3 points. Sophomore center Ronald Delph is averaging is averaging 9.7 points and leads the team with 6.6 rebounds.
• Freshman guard Nick Rutherford is 10th in the league in assists (3.3) and steals (1.4).
• Florida Atlantic is averaging 66.2 points per game and is allowing 74.4.
• The Owls are connecting on just 40.9% from the field and 32.4% from three while allowing 46.2% from the floor and 35.1% from three, which lead the league and are second, respectively.
• FAU is third in Conference USA in free throw percentage, connecting on 71.7%.
• Michael Curry is in his second season at the helm of the Florida Atlantic basketball program, where he has a 15-39 (.278) record.
