HOUSTON -- Rice begins its final homestand of the year this Thursday, Feb. 16, when it hosts UTSA. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT and will be live-streamed at CUSA.tv.

Scouting Rice
• Rice enters Thursday night's game with a 17-8 record, 7-5 in Conference USA. The Owls have won four straight games and five of their last six after defeating Florida Atlantic in overtime last Saturday, 81-75.
• Sophomore guard Marcus Evans is third in the conference in scoring, averaging 19.3 points per game. He is also third in three-point field goals made per game (2.5) and fifth in assists (4.3).
• Redshirt junior guard/forward Egor Koulechov is averaging 18.7 points, good for fifth-place in C-USA. He leads the league in three-point field goal percentage, connecting on 49.1% from beyond the arc. The Volgograd, Russia native is also tied for third in the league in free throw percentage (.833), is fourth in rebounding (8.7), sixth in three-point field goals made per game (2.3) and tied for seventh in minutes played (34.0).
• Redshirt junior guard Marcus Jackson is averaging 12.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.4 rebounds and sophomore guard Connor Cashaw is averaging 8.2 points and is second on the team with 5.6 rebounds.
• The Owls are second in Conference USA in scoring, averaging 82.2 points per game while allowing 74.5.
• Rice is second in C-USA in field goal percentage (47.5%) while leading the league in three-point field goal percentage (40.0%). It is allowing 43.1% from the floor and 32.3% from three.
• Rice is outrebounding its opponents by an average of 5.2 boards per game, 38.6-to-33.4.
• The Owls are also second in the league with 9.4 three-pointers made per game.
• Head coach Mike Rhoades is in his third season at the helm of the Rice basketball program. He owns a 41-48 (.461) record on South Main and a 238-124 (.657) record in 12 years as a head coach.

Scouting UTSA
• UTSA enters Thursday night's contest with an 11-14 record, 6-6 in Conference USA. The Roadrunners have lost five of seven games after falling to Louisiana Tech last Saturday, 72-66.
• Junior forward Jeff Beverly is ninth in the conference in scoring, averaging 16.4 points per game. He is also second on the team with 6.4 rebounds per game.
• Freshman guard Giovanni De Nicolao is scoring 8.3 points per game and is third in league in steals (1.7).
• UTSA is scoring just 65.1 points per game while allowing 68.8.
• The Roadrunners are connecting on just 38.7% from the field and 27.4% from three while allowing 42.7% from the floor and 33.9% from three.
• UTSA leads the league in rebounding, pulling down 39.9 boards per game while allowing 35.5.
• Head coach Steve Henson is in his first season at the helm of the UTSA men's basketball program where he owns an 11-14 (.440) record.

Series History
• Rice and UTSA will meet for the 11th time in school history.
• Rice trails the series, 6-4 but leads 3-2 in games played in Houston.
• Rice head coach Mike Rhoades is 2-1 against the Roadrunners.
