Rice University will look to snap a three-game losing streak and avenge an earlier loss at Tulane when the Owls play host to the Green Wave Wednesday in Tudor Fieldhouse. The game will be broadcast nationally by CBS College and can also be heard locally on ESPN 97.5 The Ticket.
The game is the second in a home-and-home series between the programs. Tulane won the earlier meeting 65-54 in New Orleans.
Wednesday's game will see Rice take part in the annual NCAA Basketball "Take a Kid to the Game" initiative.
Area youth (ages 13 and under) are invited to attend and receive a free ticket with an accompanying adult's purchase of a ticket.
Rice will be hosting one of over 700 games that will be played across the nation as part of the "Take a Kid to the Game" day program which is in its 12th season. The project is a grass rotes initiative that attracts the nation's youth and encourages adults to take kids to area college basketball games.
Tickets for the "Take a Kid to the Game" contest will be available on game night at the Tudor Fieldhouse ticket office. Tickets for the game will be available in end court seating located behind the north goal.
Rice, 6-13 overall and 1-4 in Conference USA play, has lost its last three games but will be looking to go 2-0 on CBS College. The team's last win was a 69-57 victory over SMU in a game played Jan. 14 on the network.
Tulane, 8-10 and 2-3, is coming off a 76-75 overtime win against Tulsa. The Green Wave has had a week to prepare for Wednesday's game as the team enjoyed a rare Saturday off this past weekend.

Rodney Foster has scored 13 points in each of the last two games and for the year is averaging a team-leading 10.2 points per game. Foster is shooting 40.5 percent from three-point range and his 3.95 assists per game ranks eighth in Conference USA.
Freshman Connor Frizzelle had scored in double figures in three straight games, including a 16-point, nine-rebound effort at Memphis, before being held to four points at UAB.
Kevin Sims averages 11.2 points per game to lead Tulane. He scored 12 points and had five assists in the Green Wave's earlier meeting with Rice. Senior center Robinson Louisme averages 9.8 points and a team-leading 6.5 rebounds.
Tulane ranks third in Conference USA in turnover margin at +3.56 per game. The Green Wave's 7.89 steals per game rank second in the league.
Entering the week, Rice and Tulane had the lowest scoring averages and field goal percentages in Conference USA.
Tulane is averaging 64.2 points per game and has been held below 60 points six times including its two losses before beating Tulsa. Rice is averaging 63 points per game and has been held below 55 points in five of its last six games.
Rice is shooting 40.7 percent from the field while Tulane's shooting percentage is 40.3 percent. While the Owls' field goal percentage is near the bottom the Owls' .363 three-point percentage ranks in Conference USA. Rice averages 6.53 treys per game.
The Green Wave are 0-6 in road games and 1-1 on neutral floors this season. Tulane's last road win was at Rice last year (84-77 on Feb. 2, 2008).
The Tulane game is part of a two-game home stand for the Owls who will entertain East Carolina Saturday afternoon in a contest set for a rare 1 p.m. tip-off.
