Men's Basketball Drops Overtime Heartbreaker at C-USA Championship

North Texas claims 63-62 victory in tournament opener

Wrapped up collegiate career by starting all 32 games during the Owls' 2008-09 season ... all told, played in 117 career games which ties for seventh all-time at Rice ... scored 925 career points (7.9 ppg) ... concluded career with 158 three-pointers made and 475 three-point field goals attempted ... ranks fifth all-time at Rice in three-pointers made and fourth in all-time attempts ... 324 career assists and 117 career assists both rank ninth all-time at Rice.

2008-09: Only player to start all 32 games during the year ... averaged 12 points and three rebounds during senior season ... averaged 4.53 assists to rank fifth in Conference USA while his .846 free throw percentage ranked second in the league behind teammate Connor Frizzelle ... .440 three-point field goal shooting percentage led C-USA and averaged 2.19 treys an outing, eighth-best in the league ... 70 three-pointers made ranks sixth in Rice history while shooting percentage from beyond the arc is fifth-best at Rice.

2007-08: During the final week of the regular season, suffered a broken hand during practice ... became the second Owl player to be leading the team in scoring when he suffered a significant injury ... was averaging 11.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and had a team-leading 79 assists (3.2 pg) ... ranked 12th in Conference USA in assists and his 1.52 steals per game (38 total) ranked sixth at season's end ... played in a total of 25 games, starting 21 including the last 10 in which he competed ... had played 36+ minutes in each of the Owls' four games prior to the injury ... ranked in the top 10 in C-USA in minutes played (33.8 pg) before being sidelined ... in addition to missing the last three games of the season, suffered a knee injury the first week of league play and missed two games.

Scored a career-high 24 points against Tulane in Katy's Leonard E. Merrell Center ... the Katy native was 5-for-12 from the field and knocked down 3-of-7 three-pointers in addition to sinking 11-of-12 free throws against the Green Wave ... also had four assists and four steals in the game ... along with 12 points and three rebounds, equaled a career high with six assists against UAB ... fell a field goal shy of tying the career mark later in Conference USA play when he finished with 22 points at Houston ... had a career-high seven assists against UH and would have a hand in 15 of the Owls' 23 field goals ... against the cross-town rival Cougars, set career records for field goals made (8) and field goal attempts (22) as well as three-pointers made and attempted (6-of-16) ... the 16 three-point attempts set a Rice game record.

Prior to 2008 C-USA Play: Started five of the team's first seven games before coming off the bench against Texas State and Texas ... scored 17 and 13 points, respectively, in the two games off the bench .... played all 40 minutes in road game at Texas A&M ... scored eight points on 3-for-13 shooting and had three rebounds, an assist and a steal against the Aggies ... scored 14 points at Oklahoma in final nonconference game of the regular season.

2006-07: As he did as a rookie, played in every game during the year (32) ... started the last three games of the year, all at the C-USA Tournament ... averaged 4.4 points and 1.3 rebounds for the year ... scored season-high 16 points vs. Paul Quinn College in 2006-07 opener, making 4-4 three-pointers ... poured in 11 points at Houston (4-5 FGs) in his only other double-figure scoring game of the year ... scored nine at home against both Houston and Tulane ... third on team with 47 assists.

2005-06: Competed in all 28 games ... often was the first man off the bench ... averaged 4.3 points and and 1.6 rebounds for the year while seeing 19 minutes of action per game ... scored 10 points in victory over Prairie View A&M and nine at Southern Miss including two huge three-point baskets ... also scored eight points vs. UAB and at Oregon ... had season-high six assists against New Mexico Highlands ... shot 73.1 percent from the free throw line and had 53 assists.

Mayde Creek High School: A 2004 graduate of Mayde Creek High School ... was a three-year starter for coach Ojay Heil... Led the Rams to a 25-9 record as a senior with a 18.7 scoring average...
