Donald Brown begins his first season as the Men's Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Brown comes to South Main after spending last year at East Tennessee State as its Director of Basketball Athletic Performance where he implemented a strength and conditioning program that maintained gains, reduced injuries and managed stress. His program helped the Bucs to just their 14th postseason appearance, reaching the semifinals of the Vegas 16 Tournament.
Prior to ETSU, Brown spent a year at VCU as its Assistant Basketball Strength Coach. He helped to create a conditioning program that prepared players for the Rams vaunted "HAVOC" full-court pressure defense. The program helped VCU to the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
He has also volunteered at Stony Brook while serving as Founder and Director of One Step Ahead/Revolution Athletics, where he worked as a contracted strength coach for various colleges, AAU, and high school basketball programs in the New York/New Jersey area.
The Long Island, N.Y., native played for Bucknell from 2003-07, where he averaged 6.8 points and 4.4 rebounds. Brown helped the Bison to two straight NCAA Tournament appearances, earning victories over Kansas and Arkansas. Following his college career, Brown played overseas in various countries, including Iceland and Germany.
