With the first pitch less than two months away, season tickets for the 2012 edition of Rice Owls Baseball are now on sale through the Rice Athletics Ticket Office or online at RiceOwls.com.
Current season ticket holders are being contacted by mail with information to allow them to renew their seats for the 31-game home season that gets started when the Owls host Florida International for Opening Day at 4:30 on February 17 at Reckling Park. Season ticket plans are available in all locations and start as low as $150 for adults.
Wayne Graham's Owls, who were ranked seventh by Collegiate Baseball in the first of preseason polls, are scheduled for 31 home dates this season, including 12 against teams who qualified for the NCAA Baseball Championship last year. Both of the first two Conference USA teams to visit Reckling Park (Southern Miss in late March and East Carolina in April) advanced to NCAA Regionals in 2011. Rice hosts Houston and UAB in conference series in early May.
The Owls also have home games against some familiar teams from around the region, including crosstown foe Texas Southern and longtime opponents Lamar, Grambling State, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas-San Antonio and Texas State.
