HOUSTON - On the eve of the program's biennial Baseball Alumni Day on Saturday, Nov. 2, season tickets for the 2014 edition of Rice Owls Baseball are now on sale on-line through the Rice Athletics Ticket Office.
Current season ticket holders are being contacted by mail with information to allow them to renew their seats for the 27-game 2014 home slate. Season ticket plans are available in all locations and start as low as $170 for adults with a donation to the Owl Club. The Owls are scheduled for 27 home dates that include such foes as Texas, Texas A&M, Houston, TCU, East Carolina, Lamar, Louisiana Tech, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UAB to name just a few.
Under the direction of head coach Wayne Graham, now in his 23rd season at the helm of the program, last year's Rice team that earned a 19th-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Owls return six offensive starters in the batting order and ten veteran pitchers who helped lead the 2013 team to a 44-20 record and to both the Conference USA regular season and tournament titles. There are some talented newcomers on the squad making for another talented group for the fast-approaching 2014 season. Purchase tickets on-line at the above link.
Registration for the Baseball Alumni Day activities begins at at 10 am at Reckling Park. Alumni introductions are at 11:30 am, followed by an alumni game at 12 noon.
