HOUSTON - On the eve of the program's biennial Baseball Alumni Day on Saturday, Nov. 2, season tickets for the 2014 edition of Rice Owls Baseball are now on sale on-line through the Rice Athletics Ticket Office.
Current season ticket holders are being contacted by mail with information to allow them to renew their seats for the 27-game 2014 home slate. Season ticket plans are available in all locations and start as low as $170 for adults with a donation to the Owl Club. The Owls are scheduled for 27 home dates that include such foes as Texas, Texas A&M, Houston, TCU, East Carolina, Lamar, Louisiana Tech, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UAB to name just a few.
Under the direction of head coach Wayne Graham, now in his 23rd season at the helm of the program, last year's Rice team that earned a 19th-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Owls return six offensive starters in the batting order and ten veteran pitchers who helped lead the 2013 team to a 44-20 record and to both the Conference USA regular season and tournament titles. Registration for the Baseball Alumni Day activities begins at at 10 am at Reckling Park. Alumni introductions are at 11:30 am, followed by an alumni game at 12 noon.
