Upcoming Baseball Schedule Changed Due To Impending Weather Conditions

April 28, 2016

HOUSTON - Changes have been made to this weekend's Rice and University of Charlotte baseball series at Reckling Park due to impending weather conditions in the Houston area.

The teams are now scheduled to play a double-header on Friday (April 29) starting at 3 pm. The second game of the new double-header is scheduled to begin 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first. The series finale, game three of the Conference USA weekend set, would be played Saturday (April 30) at 2 pm. Sunday (May 1) would then be utilized as a possible make-up option (weather permitting).

The updated schedule is as follows (all games at Reckling Park):

April 29,            Charlotte at Rice starting at 3 pm (game 1 of DH)

Charlotte at Rice (game 2 of DH, 45 minutes after conclusion)

April 30,            Charlotte at Rice at 2 pm

May 1,              if necessary

The Bark in the Park promotion originally scheduled for Saturday (April 30) will now be rescheduled for May 15. Fans are welcome to bring their pup to the park with you that Sunday instead of this weekend. Please call the Rice Athletics Ticket Office at 713-348-OWLS (6957) for details.

Radio Broadcast Update:
The live video/audio stream of all the baseball games on RiceOwls.com has not changed. There is, however, a slight change to Rice's radio broadcast of this weekend games on ESPN Deportes, 1180 AM. Friday's first game of the double-header will be Internet-only. Both the second and third games of the series then return to the radio airwaves on ESPN Deportes 1180 as scheduled.
