Rice baseball will return to the broadcast airwaves for seven games in 2016 as part of an agreement between Rice IMG Sports Properties and ESPN Deportes Houston (1180 am). The slate of games begins Feb. 24 (Wed.) when the Owls host longtime foe Texas State at Reckling Park at 6 pm.
J.P. Heath, the Voice of the Owls, will once again call the action for most Rice baseball games, both over the air on ESPN Deportes and on the Owls' internet broadcasts for the bulk of the 2016 schedule. All 2016 broadcasts will also be available online at RiceOwls.com.
The seven games marks the second-consecutive season that Rice Baseball has been available on radio in the Houston area. The seven broadcasts feature four home games and three when the Owls are downtown at Minute Maid Park (Feb. 26-28). The final three radio games are among the Owls' biggest non-conference games of the season, including state powers TCU (March 15), Texas A&M (April 5) and Houston (May 10). Each broadcast will be preceded by a 15-minute pregame show.
