High School -- A 2010 graduate of Monterey High School in Lubbock, Tex... Selected in the 38th round of the 2010 major league baseball draft by the Cleveland Indians... Twice played for Team Texas in the 2010 Heartland Classic in Norman, Okla.... Caught for the Rangers in the 2009 Area Code Games in Long Beach, Calif.... All-state catcher (second team) from the Texas Sports Writers Association... Two-time first team all-South Plains... Four-year varsity baseball letterman and three-year starter for head coach Kent Meador... Four-time District 2-5A All-Academic selection... Helped lead the Plainsmen to the 5A Regional I Finals while also leading the team with a .417 batting average... Drove in 39 runs and clubbed 17 doubles in the team's 45 games... Threw-out 16-of-22 runners from behind the plate as a senior... Named the team's most valuable player as a junior in 2009...
