Rice -- 2012: Set a new career-high for starts (15)... Played in 30 games overall... Was second on the team for entering a game as a defensive substitute (15 times)... All but one of his appearances (either starting or as a sub) were as a catcher... Entered one game as a pinch hitter (against Tennessee for Craig Manuel) before then remaining in the game to catch... Hit .333 (7-for-21) in the second half of the season, including .316 against Conference USA competition... Batted .455 (5-for-11) in games against ranked opponents... Went 1-for-3 with a double in the home NCAA Regional, but was 7-for-18 (.389) when hitting away from Reckling Park... Threw out seven runners attempting to seal and picked-off one with a snap-throw... Tallied a season-high 11 put outs against Southern Miss... Starting catcher for Austin Kubitza (three times), Andrew Benak (three times), Matthew Reckling (three times), Jordan Stephens (twice), John Simms (twice), Zech Lemond and Chase McDowell... 2011: Doubled his playing time and increased production in second season with the program... Appeared in 32 games with 11 starts behind the plate... Finished second on the team in games played as a defensive substitute (21, all at catcher)... Made four appearances as a pinch hitter and twice remained in the game to catch... Committed first career fielding error in first game played of the year, and did not make another error the rest of the season in 128 total defensive chances... Twice threw out base runners attempting to steal... Recorded a career-high three defensive assists in a win over nationally-ranked Texas A&M... Registered a career-high 13 put outs in the road win at Texas State... Starting catcher for pitchers Mathew Reckling (four times), John Simms (four times), Chase McDowell (twice) and Abe Gonzales... Played in the Coastal Plain League (Morehead City) over the summer... 2010: Conference USA Academic Honor Roll; Played in 18 games in first season at the Division I level and worked his way into five starts, all behind the plate... Team went 3-2 in his starts at catcher, but the Owl pitchers had some of their best outings with him as the starting receiver... With Perrott starting at catcher, the Owl pitchers maintained a steady 2.96 ERA and a .229 opponents' batting average... Was twice the starting catcher for veteran Boogie Anagnostou and eventual major league draft pick Jared Rogers... Caught Tony Cingrani's sensational start against Big 12 foe Texas Tech at the Houston College Classic held downtown at Minute Maid Park... Made NCAA debut against defending Southern Conference champion Elon... Singled in his second collegiate at bat and drew a walk in his third, after which he promptly stole second base... Next start was the opening game of the Silver Glove Trophy series against Houston, where he went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice bunt... Went 1-for-2 against Texas Tech at Minute Maid Park... Started against two talented teams, California and San Diego, that went on to play in NCAA Regionals... Finished the year error-free in the field... Recorded a career-best nine defensive put outs against California... Tallied four defensive assists by throwing out runners on the bases.

High School - A 2009 graduate of Kingood High School... Two-time first team all-District 19-5A catcher... Earned 2007 all-district accolades as a designated hitter... Batted .380 with 24 RBI and 17 runs scored in 28 games in 2009... Maintained a .390 average for entire prep career... Coached in baseball by Kelly Mead... Multi-sport star also earned two varsity letters in football for the Mustangs... Honorable mention all-district quarterback and two-time all-academic selection...
