In addition to using defensive range and athleticism to help save runs, he threw-out four opposing base-runners at home plate in games against Lamar, UAB and Southern Miss (twice)... Led the team, and finished third in Conference USA, with 42 walks... Finished second on the team in doubles (13) and tied for second in runs scored (39) and stolen bases (6)... Usual places in the batting order were fifth or sixth (19 times combined), but also hit in the top three spots a total of 18 times... Collected two or more hits in a game ten times, including a season-best three hits three different times... Knocked two doubles at home in the series-opening win against UAB... Batted .324 (34-for-105) with the third-best slugging percentage on the team (.533) when playing at Reckling Park... Drove-in three runs in a game five different times, tied for the most 3+ RBI games by an Owl all season... Pinch-hit for the first time in his career in the finale of the FIU series (where he drew a walk)... Appeared as a defensive substitute in left field at nationally-ranked Texas A&M... 2011: All-South Central Region (ABCA, second team); All C-USA (first team); Houston College Classic All-Tournament Team; Most Outstanding Player of the Silver Glove Series; One of only three Owls to start all 63 games... Finished third on the team, and fifth in C-USA, in total plate appearances (293)... Was second in the league (to teammate J.T. Chargois) with 260 at bats... Shared the team lead in batting average (.327) and home runs (6), and tied for second in steals (6)... Batted .220 to start the season but worked hard and ultimately shared the team lead in hitting... Tallied a base hit in 30-of-32 games from April 3 until the end of the year... Registered a team-best 19-game hitting streak... Hit an eye-opening .421 (48-of-114) with a .640 slugging percentage and 25 runs scored over the final 25 games... Finished with 22 multi-hit games, including three or more hits a team-leading 12 times... Slugged home runs in two different major league stadiums during the regular season, including Minute Maid Park in Houston and AT&T Park in San Francisco... Led the squad with 15 games with two or more RBI, almost twice as many as the next-closest Owl... Twenty-one of 53 RBI were when two outs were already recorded in the inning... Tied a career-high with six RBI in a win over Tulane, the most by a Rice player all year... Also had a homer and a double that day against the Green Wave for a season-best seven total bases... Tied a career-high with four put outs three times... Notched a season-high six defensive assists in a game seven different times... Hit two, three-run homers for a career-high six RBI and eight total bases in the finale of the season-long five-game Silver Glove series against crosstown rival Houston... Tallied eight games with three or more RBI... Drove in two or more runs 17 times, the third-highest total on the team... Hit .300 in the Silver Glove series and led all players with 12 RBI...
