Rice Tops C-USA with 232 on C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll

Wayne Graham said -- "Right now Connor's role is still a function of his recovery progress. He's working to make a contribution in the spring."

Rice -- 2011: Was sidelined before the start of the 2010 fall practices... Sat out the entire season... Worked hard to rejoin his teammates on the field as soon as possible.

International -- Represented the United States on two different international teams before joining Rice... Member of the gold medal-winning 2009 18 & Under U.S. squad that won the IX COPABE "AAA" Pan American Junior Championship held in Venezuela... Pitched in relief in the championship final against Cuba, helping Team USA win its first Pan Am gold medal at the 18U level against a country that had won the last seven Pam Am championships... Also pitched 1.1 relief innings against Cuba earlier in that tournament... Finished the 2009 Team USA season with a 1.93 ERA in four appearances, allowing just two hits while striking out seven in 4.2 innings... Played on the 16 & under U.S. national team in the summer of 2008... Went 1-0 with the 16U national team, maintaining a 1.80 ERA in two games... Recorded two strikeouts and allowed just two hits in 5.0 frames in 2008.

Versatile athlete who competed in the Georgia state swimming championships. Parents: Michael and Cheryl Mason of Suwanee, Ga. (one older sister). Sister, Jessie, swims competitively at Georgia Tech and is a multiple ACC All-Academic honoree. College: Duncan.
