Stanford edged Rice 3-2 on February 16, 2013

At Rice -- 2014: Appeared in two games at opposite ends of the season... Made season debut on Feb. 22 in the first home weekend series vs. Purdue... Solid outing against the Boilermakers was 2.2 hitless innings where he struck out four of the nine batters he faced... Was sidelined after that appearance and did not pitch again for another 14 weeks, making his return on June 1 in the final game of the season in NCAA Tournament vs. Texas A&M... Allowed one hit while facing a total of four batters in 1.1 innings of a no decision, highlighted by pitching a scoreless ninth inning with the game tied 7-7 (A&M went on to win extra innings)... Final season totals were 4.0 scoreless innings of one-hit relief, where he struck out four held opposing hitters to a composite .091 batting average... 2013: Doubled his pitching production in second season with the program... Maintained a 3.86 ERA in a total of 14.0 innings over 11 appearances, all in relief... Began the year with 7.0 consecutive shutout innings spanning a four-game stretch... Pitched a career-long 3.0 innings and matched a career-best with two strikeouts in the dramatic 17-inning shutout win at Hawaii... Twelve of the 14.0 innings were non-conference games... Allowed only one extra-base hit in 14.0 innings... Second on the staff to All-America/major league draftee Austin Kubitza at getting hitters to ground out (80 percent) vs. fly out (20 percent)... 2012: Appeared in six games out of the bullpen in first collegiate season... Two-time first team All-District 13-5A, earning the honor as a pitcher in 2011 and third baseman in 2010... Went 13-2 on the mound with 129 strikeouts and 1.17 ERA as a senior to lead the Bearkats to the finals of the state tournament... Also batted .375 to lead the team finish with a 31-11 record... Helped Klein go 33-7 as a junior (the fifth-best win percentage in Texas) and advance to semifinals of the 2010 state playoffs... Went 3-1 with a save and a 4.31 ERA... Struck out 43 in 37.1 innings and maintained a 3.3-to-1 strikeouts-to-walks ratio... Batted .322 with a 38 RBI, 29 runs, and a .455 slugging percentage....
