Adrian Ramon, MS, ATC, LAT, joined the Rice University Sports Medicine Team in October of 2016, and oversees the daily operations of the Owls Baseball as well as the year-round health of the squad.
Adrian came to Rice University after spending the previous year working in the Brownsville Independent School District, Brownsville Porter Early College High School, where he worked closely in maintaining the health of the student-athletes including the 2016 Boys 5A State Soccer Champions that compiled a 28-0-1 record and a Top 4 National Ranking.
He comes to Rice University with an extensive Sports Medicine background in College and Professional athletics. Graduating from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor degree in Kinesiology in 2009, Adrian served as the Student-Athletic Trainer for the Men's Basketball team for two years as well as helping with the Mean Green Football team. After graduating, he was a recipient of the NFL Minority Scholarship and spent the 2009 Training Camp with the Tennessee Titans.
Adrian then received a Master of Science in Athletic Training degree from Weber State University in 2011. During his time at Weber State, Adrian worked with the Winter Dew Tour at Snowbasin Resort as well as a rotation with the 2009 MLS Champions Real Salt Lake. Prior to leaving, Ramon spent a season with the Visalia Rawhide, Class High A of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Then an invite to work the Extended Spring Training of the Texas Rangers was extended in Surprise, Ariz.
After graduation, Adrian took an internship with the Volleyball Team at Florida Gulf Coast before accepting a full time position with the Kansas City Royals to be the Athletic Trainer of the Rookie League Burlington Royals. Adrian also spent two years with the Milwaukee Brewers, specifically being the assigned Athletic Trainer for the Latin American Academy based in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic.
In his year with the Bradley University Braves Baseball, Adrian worked extensively in preventive and recovery measures, as he helped the Braves received a bid to the Louisville Regional, the first time in 60 years for the Braves.
A native of Texas and 2001 graduate of Harlingen High School in Harlingen, Texas, Adrian enjoys traveling, hunting, fishing and competing in Brasilian Jiu Jitsu
