Owls Land 18 for 2013 Football Recruiting Class
Rice head football coach David Bailiff and staff did not have to venture far to line up the bulk of their 2013 recruiting class.
The Owls inked a total of 18 players on Wednesday, and 12 of those 18 played their high school football in the greater Houston area and 17 of the 18 hail from the state of Texas with the 18th being the latest recruiting success from Canada.
"This is an exciting class that was built through a great deal of hard work by our staff," Bailiff said. "We were very excited to have the kind of success we had with the recruits in the Houston area. I know so many of their families and their coaches in the area are really excited to know they have chosen to stay close to home so they can enjoy watching them play. It's great to see so many choosing Rice as the place where they can combine their love of football and their desire to get a great education. I can't wait for this class to get to campus and start working with our returning players to prepare for a great 2013 season."
