Michael Dean
	Position: Assistant AD/Compliance

Michael Dean was promoted to assistant athletics director for compliance in October 2008. He came to Rice after stops at Birmingham-Southern and West Virginia.

His responsibilities involve managing the compliance program to ensure that the entire Rice University community meets all of Rice, C-USA, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Prior to his arrival at Rice, Dean served as Compliance Assistant at West Virginia from 2005-06, while earning a Master's in Sport Management in December 2006. Dean graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in History from Birmingham-Southern in May 2005.

While at BSC, Dean served as an intern in the BSC athletic department and served four years as the student-equipment manager for the BSC Baseball Team.

Dean, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, married the former Andrea Boohaker in July 2008. The couple lives in Pearland.
