Rice fans will get an chance to burn off a few calories in advance of Halloween Night while giving their dogs a brisk walk and raising money for women's athletics when the Rice Women's Athletics Advisory Board (WAAB) and Rice Sports Management presents its first Howl-O-Ween Dogathon on October 31, benefiting Rice Women's Athletics and True Blue Dog Rescue .

The event starts at noon in front of Tudor Fieldhouse on the Rice campus. Participants and their canine companions will then walk along one half of the Inner Loop of the campus. Rice student athletes will be on hand to sign autographs during the event, and there will be inflatable bounce houses for the younger fans. At the conclusion of the event, there will be a costume contest for both participants and their dogs as well as dog adoptions and information on pet care.

Registration for the event is $25. Participants can register to walk in the dogathon and/or give a gift online at www.firstgiving.com/WAABRICE
