Rice had 215 scholar-athletes earn recognition to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll, part of a conference-wide record of 2,538 student-athletes to earn that recognition during the 2012-13 academic year. Student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
Memphis placed the highest number of student-athletes on the honor roll, producing 228 members. UCF followed closely with 227, while Rice ranked third with 215 student-athletes on the list. The total number honored is an increase of more than three percent from a year ago.
Student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better also receive the Commissioner's Academic Medal. Those winners will be released tomorrow.
